Instant Sparrow Summoning is a new gameplay mechanic that Bungie is developing for its hit online looter-shooter Destiny 2. The feature will be coming to the game as part of the upcoming Beyond Light expansion scheduled to hit PC and consoles in just a few days’ time, on the 10th of November, to be more exact.
For those not in the loop, Sparrows are a type of two-wheel vehicles in Destiny 2. They are a core part of the experience offered by the game’s Speed Demon gameplay mode which revolves around traversing one of many available maps on this futuristic motorcycles of sorts.
Available as an in-game perk, Speed Demon is widely considered to be an essential choice for anyone looking to succeed playing Destiny 2 Ghosts mode. Bungie now appears to be ready to fully embrace the popularity of this feature by allowing players to instantly summon Sparrows across all supported modes.
Meaning the actual Speed Demon perk is getting ditched and the ability to spawn one of these motorcycles will soon be as quintessential to the core gameplay loop of Destiny 2 as squeezing the right gamepad shoulder button or clicking the left mouse button to fire your gun is.
